The Education Department and Teacher Preparation Program at Lake Forest College seek a part-time lecturer to teach EDUC 312: Integrating the Arts in the Learning Process in spring 2019. The course is required for elementary education majors and is open to Educational Studies minors as well. The course meets one night a week from January to May on the Lake Forest College campus.
This course focuses on the integration of the fine arts in the elementary school curriculum. Students learn how to meaningfully incorporate the visual arts, drama, music, and dance across the natural sciences, social sciences, and humanities in K-8 classrooms to enrich the learning process.

Qualifications: A minimum of an earned master’s degree is required, plus experience teaching in K-12 schools. The preferred instructor could be either an art teacher who works with general education teachers to integrate art into their classrooms or a general elementary classroom teacher who does excellent and creative work in integrating the arts into the classroom.
