Important Commencement Details

We are looking forward to celebrating the milestone of Commencement with you and your family.

To help you and your family plan for the big day, we have included some important information below about Commencement festivities. More information can also be found online.

Save the Dates
If you haven’t already, mark your calendar for Commencement on May 13, 2017. The graduation ceremony will take place at Ravinia Festival Park, which is about 11 miles south of campus in Highland Park, Illinois. Commencement begins at 10:15 a.m. and ends at approximately 12:30 p.m.

In addition to Commencement, we hope you will join us for Senior Brunch in the Gus and Margie Hart Dining Hall on Friday, May 12 from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. This event is free for graduates and their guests.  No tickets are required.

The Pavilion at Ravinia Festival Park will accommodate 3,300 participants. Tickets are required for entry. Graduates will receive seven tickets, which will be distributed at cap and gown pick up on Tuesday, April 25. Graduates are encouraged to offer tickets they don’t need to fellow graduates who need additional tickets.

Commencement is held at the scenic Ravinia Festival Park, an outdoor concert facility in Highland Park, Illinois. Winds off of Lake Michigan contribute to a cold environment. Please plan to dress for cool weather (in layers with warm coats, hats, and gloves) and bring blankets for your family’s comfort during the ceremony. There are no heated, indoor facilities in which to warm up at Ravinia.
