Beer has been collecting survey data inside the meeting among accredited civil society members as well as at social movement protest events in Paris to measure if individuals within the climate movement are reformers or revolutionaries—seeking change within the economic and social system of today or looking to dramatically alter the economic and social system of today.
He will continue collecting data through the end of the conference and the planned protests on Saturday, December 12 in Paris. This research is part of Beer’s Hotchkiss Fellowship sabbatical. This project is similar to one he conducted with Lake Forest students in New York City in the fall of 2014 at the People’s Climate March. Beer returns to campus and the classroom next semester.
